You Never Know Where A Book Will Go!

I received an email this week from a fellow Toastmaster, Adam Traylor, that made my day. It is a great story, and I want to share it with all of you. Adam spent this Thanksgiving holiday with his family in Texas and sent me the following message.

"My mom said that my 3-year-old nephew, Sid, has been requesting that she read your book to him each night before bed or while he eats his dinner. The coolest part is that he's doing this completely on his own. No one even mentioned it and this is the book he's been choosing. She does a great job of teaching him with it. It was an awesome sight to see my nephew learning about our God. I thought you'd enjoy seeing this!

Sincerely,
Adam"

WOW! This is exactly how I envisioned my book would be used. Young children have a need and a desire to know God. Some studies reveal that if children are not taught about God in their early years, it is highly unlikely that they will ever believe in or have faith in God as adults. My book offers a tool to help parents, grandparents and teachers describe and define the God of the Bible in an easy to remember format.

In Deuteronomy 6:4-7 the Word says, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your house and on your gates."

I am so happy that "Grammy" Linda Traylor is training up this child in the way he should go. And who knows, Sidney Loyd Parks may one day be teaching and preaching about God and His love for us to his family and friends in the next generation.

If you struggle with how to explain God or just want a book to supplement your Bible studies, check out God from A to Z. The main thing - and an eternal thing is to teach our children to love God with all their heart, soul and strength.

It’s wonderful to hear about young children engaging with faith.
